Mentoring

Why?

Roles in sustainability and climate change expose people to an above-average risk of getting entangled in double-binds, which can lead to burnout and a permanent sense of overwhelm.

This can become damaging to our health and our mission. It doesn’t have to be that way.

What?

Systemically and psychologically informed mentoring is one way of receiving guidance in your movement towards the small islands of coherence in a sea of chaos. Your overwhelm and the overwhelm in the culture are not separate. They are inter-connected fractals of a greater whole.

Within a stuck situation often also lies unharnessed potential that has the capacity to take us to the edges of the known. That is where true innovation lies.

Mentoring helps you to deepen your attention and to recognise the support and the beauty that are accessible as you forge a path through new territory.

How?

25 years of experience allow me to meet you where you are as a whole person rather than asking you to fit a particular model. Through systemic work, imaginal exercises, development of personal practices and IFS parts work, I support a journey of reclamation of what has been exiled in the process of adaptation to an ailing culture.

Meetings last from one to two hours in length, and we meet one or two times a month. We will contract for a series of meetings and then negotiate further work.

Mentoring sessions can be held over phone or Zoom.

Groups?

I also work with small groups and teams. Please get in touch for further information.

I also supervise an increasing number of coaches and OD consultants on their journey towards increased climate and ecological awareness.

“When a complex system is far from equilibrium, small islands of coherence in a sea of chaos have the capacity to shift the entire system to a higher order”
